• Move with the stick on the lower left, or WASD.
• Drag the stick past its ring, or hold Shift, to sprint. The ring under you shows the burst left; it refills in a couple of seconds. Sprint a lot and you tire, so late in a long match your sprint is slower. A shot hit while sprinting is off balance.
• Tap a shot just before the ball reaches you. Your player swings when it's in reach, and you'll see if you were early, late or perfect.
• The small white ring shows where the ball will land. You can turn it off under Display.
• Court zoom, under Display, brings the court closer or shows more around it. If the game stutters, set Display to Low. Settings can also be changed from the pause screen.
• Button size and opacity, under Controls, make the stick and shot buttons bigger or easier to see through.
• The yellow ring under you lights up while a shot is armed. A ball just out of reach gets a stretched, weaker shot.
• Hold the stick left or right as you hit to aim. Push it forward as you hit for topspin, or pull it back for slice. Try topspin Try slice
• Hold a shot button to hit harder and deeper; the yellow ring grows as it charges.
• Drive or Lob a ball above your head to smash it down. Try it
• Dink or Drop against a hard-hit ball to reset it softly into the kitchen. Try it
• Drive a high ball at the kitchen line to speed it up at your opponent. Try it
• Serve with Drive (hard and deep), Lob (high), Drop (soft, mid-court) or Dink (short and wide, near the kitchen corner). Hold the stick left or right to aim, forward for topspin or back for slice. Pick volley or drop serving under Style in the Pro Shop.
• You can volley from outside the sideline next to the kitchen (an Erne), and a wide ball can go around the net post.
• The serve and its return must bounce before you hit them.
• Side-out scoring: only the serving side scores. Rally scoring: every rally scores. First to 11, 15 or 21 (Game to), win by 2.
